8-4 Filter Configuration

If the ﬁlter type is GEN (generic), the abbreviations listed in Table 8-3 are used.

To conﬁgure a speciﬁc ﬁlter rule, select the number of the ﬁlter rule (1–6) that you want to

conﬁgure and press [Enter] to display Menu 21.1.1 - TCP/IP Filter Rule.

Conﬁguring a Filter Rule

You can conﬁgure two types of ﬁlter rules. Some of the parameters differ depending on the type

of rule. When you ﬁrst enter the ﬁlter rule menu, Menu 21.1.1 - TCP/IP Filter Rule is displayed. If

you want to conﬁgure another type of ﬁlter rule, select the appropriate type by pressing the space

bar under the Filter Type ﬁeld and then pressing [Enter] to display the menu for the ﬁlter rule you

want to enter.

TCP/IP Filter Rule

This section provides information about how to conﬁgure a TCP/IP ﬁlter rule for your router.

The ﬁelds in the menu are given in Table 8-4. When you have completed Menu 21.1.1 - TCP/IP

Filter Rule, press [Enter] at the Press ENTER to Conﬁrm...prompt to conﬁrm your selections.

You can press [Esc] at any time to cancel your selections. The data you entered on

Menu 21.1.1 - TCP/IP Filter Rule is displayed on Menu 21.1 - Filter Rules Summary.

Table 8-4 lists and describes the TCP/IP Filter Rule menu ﬁelds and a description of each ﬁeld.
